New Wineskins: Forming Mission Based Communities

The longing for Christian community is a call from God. Those who feel it need to heed God’s call, listen carefully, and explore it with others who feel the same longing. This module is an exploration of what these new wineskins of Christian community might look like. JustFaith Ministries calls them “mission based communities.” The module is a discernment process for groups and combines reading and prayer designed to explore various aspects and realities of small communities. It helps participants discern, individually and collectively, whether or not they will form a small community. It will also help those groups that have decided to continue to begin the process of forming into a community based on a mission to and with those who are poor and vulnerable.
