College JusticeWalking (Pilot)

College JusticeWalkingCollege JusticeWalking (J-Walking) is a semester-long “Discipleship Journey” that forms small communities of college students as they experiment with living the Gospel message and the social implications of our faith.

Key to this process are the relationships that develop within each J-Walking community and those encountered at the margins of our society.

Through prayer, retreats, reading, dialogue, and relationships, College J-Walkers broaden their circle of awareness and expose their lives to the compassionate spirit of Gospel justice.

College J-Walking includes:

  • Seven weekly sessions (every other session is located at a social service agency)
  • Thematic reflecting on the signs of our times
  • An overnight opening and closing retreat
  • A public dialogue
  • A daylong Justice Pilgrimage
  • Maintaining a journal
  • Reading and reflecting on two books practicing five lifestyle adjustments that apply Gospel teachings to life choices

You can read comments from J-Walkers in both documents.

Currently we are looking to pilot this new process at a select number of campuses across the country.
