Early in 2005 Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) formed a partnership with JustFaith Ministries to promote and support Catholic parish and diocesan involvement in the JustFaith program. The partnership recognizes the importance of expanding parish and church commitment to social ministry and the critical role that formation in the justice tradition plays in this process.
Two of these national Catholic organizations are still full partners with JustFaith Ministries through a financial commitment and directional support. The partnership, in turn, helps CCHD, and CRS carry out their mission of engaging U.S. Catholics in work with and on behalf of the poor and vulnerable, to alleviate poverty, and empower communities both at home and abroad.
Starting in 2007, prompted by the success of JustFaith programs in Catholic parishes, Bread for the World, the largest Christian anti-hunger advocacy organization in the United States, now partners with JustFaith Ministries on a version of JustFaith intended for the larger Christian community across the United States.
In 2010, two additional partners joined JustFaith Ministries in our work: Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers and PaxChristi USA. With Maryknoll, this affiliation is a natural progression in the growth of our programs. We have already incorporated spirituality and social analysis content published by Orbis Books, Maryknoll's publishing arm, as well as insights from the global voice of Maryknoll's Office for Global Concerns.
JustFaith Ministries is already well-known to many Pax Christi members and the formal collaboration will empower our communities to fullfill our vocation to give flesh to the message of compassion, ustice and peace that Jesus proclaims.
